Santhal art is the depiction of way of life of the Santhal Tribe, their cultural heritage and their tradition. It is believed that their origins are pre-historic dating back thousands of years, much before the Dravidians or the Aryans.
The painting on the saree has been made by the District Awardee artist Sonali Chitrakar from West Bengal.
