A set of 6 coasters in a box depicting chinar leafs. Chinars are believed to be introduced in the Kashmir by Akbar in 1586 AD. He planted about 1200 plants of Chinar near the shrine of Hazratbal and engaged watch and ward personnels to safeguard the plant. Legend has it that Akbar ordered to irrigate the plants with milk instead of water.
These coasters are made of paper pulp and then decorated with Kashmiri local motifs.
This is made by the local artist from Srinagar where the art has originated.
