The Art:
The age old art of leather puppetry called “Tholu Bommalata”, whose literal translation is Art of Leather Shadows. This art has existed since 200BC and it derives its motifs from Hindu mythology. It was only under the royal patronage of Satavahanas, Pallavas, Challukyas & Kakatiyas that this art was revived.
