Hand-painted "Madhubani Art" Coasters from Bihar

A set of 4 hand-painted coasters depicting wild life in Madhubani style. Nature plays an important part in Maithili Culture. Also, the jungle theme denotes the life of Lord Rama when he was exiled for fourteen years. This form of art is generally practiced by women who then pass the art to their daughters and daughter-in-laws.

These coasters have been beautifully hand-painted on pine wood.
