Hand-painted "Manjusha Art " Table Lamp - Bihula
A hand-painted square lamp depicting Bihula and Bala Lakhendra. Bihula, a young lady fights against all the odds for her dead husband (Bala Lakhendra) and brings him back to life. The painting is done on tassar silk and the lamp frame is made of teak wood.

The Art:
According to old legend of Ang Pradesh (current day Bhagalpur), Bihula carried her dead husband in a boat. The cover of the boat was painted with all the events leading upto his death in a sequential manner. This sequential painting later came to be known as Manjusha Art.

The paintings on the lamp is painted by Shilp Guru and pioneer of the craft Manoj Pandit from Bhagalpur.
