Hand-painted "Manjusha Art " Table Lamp - Mansa Devi
A hand-painted round lamp depicting the five “Manasaputri" of Lord Shiva. Together they are known as Mansa Devi. They are believed to be originated from Lord Shiva’s hair. The painting is done on tassar silk and the lamp base is made of mango wood.

The Art:
According to old legend of Ang Pradesh (current day Bhagalpur), Bihula carried her dead husband in a boat. The cover of the boat was painted with all the events leading upto his death in a sequential manner. This sequential painting later came to be known as Manjusha Art.

The paintings on the lamp is painted by Shilp Guru and pioneer of the craft Manoj Pandit from Bhagalpur.
