Handmade figurine of folk musician playing maracas. Original instruments were made of gourds. Musicians hold them by their handle, usually in pair, and shake them. Its a recent addition to Indian musical instrument. This portrayal of musician is unique and detailed from head to toe. It is made of antique brass using Dhokra technique. The base is made of teak wood.

The Art:
Dhokra artefacts can be traced back as early as Mohenjo-daro. It is the oldest traditional technique of casting metal. The name of the art is derived from the fact that it is greatly practiced by Dhokra damar tribe.
