A beautiful handmade candle stand of a woman carrying “mora / soopa”. “Mora / Soopa” is traditionally made of bamboo woven in shape of a curved tray. In olden days, new borns were first kept in “mora / soopa” and then transfered to cradle. It is also believed that infant lord Krishna was transported from Kansa prison to Gokula in “mora / soopa” by Vasudev. It is made of antique brass.

Dhokra artefacts can be traced back as early as Mohenjo-daro. It is the oldest traditional technique of casting metal. The name of the art is derived from Dhokra damar tribe, which has been practicing it since generations.
