A set of 4 hand-painted coasters of flora and fauna popular in Bhil culture. Bhils worship mahua tree and admire peacock as the most beautiful bird in the universe. They never cut living trees as they believe tree provides basic necessities for the survival of all the living beings. The coasters are made on pine wood.

The Art:

Bhil Painting derives its name from Bhil tribe of central India. Their themes and forms represent the Bhil tribe’s way of life, from mythological tales to real life schedule. It is believed that the tribe trace their lineage to the famous archer, Eklavya from Mahabharata.

The Artist:

The painting has been made by national awardee and pioneer of the art Bhuri Bai from Madhya Pradesh.
