Hand-painted "Gond Art" Lamp - Cow
The hand-painted lamp depicting “Cow” is made on raw silk. Gond tribe believe cow to be their sacred animal because it provides food as well as can be used to plough fields. The tribe shows its gratefulness to cow by worshiping and drawing them on walls. The lamp can be put on wall or entry way table.

The Art:
The Gond Painting was originated from Madhya Pradesh and derives its name from the tribe. The Gond tribe believes in “viewing good image brings good luck”. The paintings are an offering in worship of nature, and are also a mode of seeking protection and warding off evil.
