Hand-painted "Manjusha Art " Table Lamp - Marraige Possesion of Bihula
A hand-painted round lamp depicting the marriage possession of Bihula. Bihula is an important character in Ang folklore. According to the legend, she manages to get her husband's life back from the God, who were impressed by her dedication and love for her family. The painting is done on raw silk and the lamp base is made of mango wood.

According to old legend of Ang Pradesh (current day Bhagalpur), Bihula carried her dead husband in a boat. The cover of the boat was painted with all the events leading upto his death in a sequential manner. This sequential painting later came to be known as Manjusha Art.
The paintings on the lamp is painted by Shilp Guru and pioneer of the craft Manoj Pandit from Bhagalpur.
