Santhal art is the depiction of way of life of the Santhal Tribe, their cultural heritage and their tradition. It is believed that their origins are pre-historic dating back thousands of years, much before the Dravidians or the Aryans.
The painting on the lamp has been made by District Awardee artist Sonali Chitrakar from West Bengal.
