Hand-painted "Saura Art" Table Lamp - Village Deity
A hand-painted lamp with a pictorial representation of village deity at the center. The Sauras do not eat the newly harvested crop of the year without this ceremony. They first offer these to God and their forefathers. The painting is done on tassar silk and the lamp frame is made of teak wood.

Saura painting is a style of wall mural painting associated with the Saura tribe of Odisha, India. These paintings primarily revolve around “Idital” - the Saura deity.Their whole theological system is dramatised in their painting traditions.
The paintings on the lamp has been made by Purandar Naik from Bhubaneswar.
