Manjusha Painting - Mesmerizing Bihula
The painting depicts lady Bihula taking morning bath with her friends. It was here that Chandu Saudagar spotted Bihula. Bihula would make an earthern pot with wet mud, fill it with water and offer water to Shiva lingam in the temple. Chandu saudagar was intrigued by the dedication of Bihula and decided to marry her to his only son Bala Lakhendra after this event. The painting is made on hand-made paper and comes without a frame.

According to the old legends of “Ang Pradesh” (current day Bhagalpur), Bihula carried her dead husband in a boat. The cover of the boat was painted with all the events leading upto his death in a sequential manner. This sequential painting later came to be known as Manjusha Craft.
The painting has been made by Shilp Guru and pioneer of the Manjusha craft Manoj Pandit from Bhagalpur.
