The Art:
The Banjara is an Indian tribe living in the states of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka. The primitive Banjara ornaments show their artistic creation - religious and other aspects of their everyday life. The usage of metals like silver, bronze, copper and brass has a significance of health and hygiene. The tribe use silver along with an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc to make jewellery, so that decolouration of silver is prevented.
