Tantrik Painting - Adi Para Shakti
According to Shaktism and Hindu mythology, Adi Para Shakti is the supreme being. Adi Shakti divides herself in 3 forms - Durga, Kali and Mayashakti. Kali, the Vidya Shakti splits herself in 10 kinds of eternal knowledge, Mahavidyas. As per Tantra, these 10 Mahavidyas are the origin of 10 incarnation of Lord vishnu. The painting represents the 10 symbols of Kali and the subsequent 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The painting is made on hand-made paper washed with cow dung to bring health and happiness in life.

Madhubani Art dates back to the epochal period of Ramayana. According to mythology, King Janak ordered his subjects to decorate the entire town during Sita’s swayamvar. Since women generally stayed indoor, they decorated the walls with beautiful paintings.
The painting has been made by one of the last surviving Tantrik artist Sanjib “Golu Ji” from Bihar.
