Wall Hanging depicting Naquashi from Kashmir
A round wall hanging depicting chinar leaves. According to one of the folklore, a Persian poet while going on evening walk happen to see these leaves. He was so mesmerised that he exclaimed “che nar” which means “What a fire”. Since then these leaves are popular known as chinar leaf.
This wall hanging is made of paper pulp and then decorated with Kashmiri local motifs.
This is made by the national awardee artist from Srinagar where the art has originated.
